The word Bane is defined as the following:
1. Fatal injury or ruin.
2. A cause of harm, ruin, or death.
3. A source of persistent annoyance or exasperation.
4. A deadly poison.
Dwarvesbane is a guild that tries to promote Roleplaying and Dueling in character in the world of Planeshift. We try to do this by "slaying" dwarves, for the main reason that dwarves, when acting in character, are overly proud of their race and hence get involved in this roleplay more quickly. We attempt to provide the world of Planeshift with an easy way to start a roleplay and have an other experience than just mining metal and melting it or killing a 15 pp rogue that loots well.
We believe that any good story has to have "bad guys" as well as "good guys." Star Wars would have been a lot less interesting if not for Darth Vader and the other evil sith lords. We try to add to the experience in Yliakum by providing someone to fear, hate, challenge and hope to someday overcome.
Our guild walks a fine line, as we attempt to stir up characters' emotions, while trying hard to not cause anger in the players behind the characters. We will often use private /tells or [bracketed questions] to make sure the dwarf or dwarf-friend is not being offended. Also each member has their own reason for hunting dwarves. Some, like Drahlian, are disgusted by dwarves. Others had loved one killed by dwarves, or were enslaved by dwarves, and are out to exact revenge, or have an ailment causing them to not understand dwarven speech, thereby mistaking them for animals. But we all hold the same goal in Planeshift: to add flavor and enjoyment for all players we meet.
