[Tyrnal Relhorn]
In a small dusty office building somewhere in Ojaveda, lies the headquarters of the Vaal Guard. You would be suprised if anyone besides yourself now and the Captain ever set foot in here or even know where to find the place. The dim room is only lit by the few rays of sunlight that come through one small window carved into the thick walls. After your eyes adjust to the darkness for a few moments you make out an old wooden desk with pieces of parchment scattered across them. Most of the writings are either written by someone who could barely write or became unreadable because of all the ink stains.
After throwing a few papers aside you stumble upon a neatly tied bundle addressed to Ojaveda's Vigesimi. It appears to be a collection of reports from the Vaal Guard, written by Tyrnal Relhorn himself. You look behind you at the half-open heavy wooden door and are tempted to leave this cold, dusty place behind you. Part of you is curious about the life of a Vaal Guard though, that part, from back when you were a little child playing guard and criminal with your friends, is strangely intrigued in the content of the duty reports lying on the wooden table. Eventually the inner child wins and you decide to satisfy your curiosity when you carefully untie the bundle and start reading ...

Today the Vaal Guard got reïnforced with a new recruit, a witty male Enkidukai named Freko. He aspires to become a member of the Vaal Guard support unit with his knowledge of crystal way magic. I've personally taken him on patrol duty with me to test his abilities. The Enki apparently had his own fighting equipment, which was quite decent in my opinion, however his combat skills wouldn't have allowed him to do anything more than exterminating vermin in Akkaio's warehouses. All in all Freko turned out to be a fine addition with his magical abilities and very polite behaviour. He definitely passed the initial tests and has been admitted to the Vaal Guard. I have given him his equipment and adviced him to follow a tough training schedule to get his combat skills up to par.
I have big plans with Freko when the Vaal Guard expands ...
The city patrol went smoothly with the support of our newest Guard. We've only had to take care of some rogues who were threatening the townspeople.
This evening our merchant Thromdir Shoake and his wife, Bessa were brutally stabbed to death by a band of rogues, right before closing time. Luckily Freko was nearby and he rushed towards the scene after hearing some screams. When he got there the killers had already disappeared but couldn't find the time to take any of the store's inventory with them. The only damage done besides the double murder were some stained and torn carpets.
Thromdir and his wife have managed to return to us from the Death Realm in the meanwhile so they are back at work in the Vaalnor Supply Shop.

The Vaalnor council has decided that from now on every Vaalnor Merchant standing behind the counter has to be accompagnied by at least one Vaal Guard member, on duty infront of his or her shop. This new rule came in place after the repeated rogue attacks. In the past few days two different merchants were robbed by rogues. Besides a few bags of cloth and some cheap trinkets they didn't manage to get away with anything.
Today the Supply Shop was guarded by myself, Freko and two volunteers from Vaalnor, Archon and Jekkar. We've managed to prevent several new robbery attempts and killed a handful of rogues who resisted arrest. That should get the message across and hopefully they'll cease their attempts.

I've had a minor dispute with one of the Enkidukai Outlaws named Sezrenade today. Apparently they feel that this city should be run by Enkidukai and they don't seem too fond with the prospect of a lawful Ojaveda. Sezrenade blamed us for not being there when the townspeople needed us and even though most of his hatred is quite unfounded he does bring up a valid point. The Vaal Guard is seriously undermanned and in our current capacity we are unable to keep the city of Ojaveda as safe as we would like.
A few hours later I am approached by another Outlaw, Drah and also Sezrenade appeared at his partner's side soon after. Both Enkidukai were rather angry and once again had no good feelings towards the Vaal Guard. It seems that one of our newer Vaalnor members had threatened the Outlaws and told them to stay away from Ojaveda in a moment of idiocy. Since I was busy fending off rogues I didn't respond to their furious threats. However I will need to have a word with Rethius about pushing Vaalnor into unwanted conflicts.
Our actions regarding the Outlaws will remain the same as every other Ojavedan citizen. We don't regard them as an enemy and even though they'll never accept it they deserve the protection of our Guards, as long as they respect the law we uphold. I have given my fellow Guards the advice to be extra alert. Should they decide to try and work us out with force despite everything, we will not be caught unprepared. For now I will leave things as they are but if this incident escalates any further I'll have to ask the Vaalnor Council to send an ambassador to clear things out with these Outlaws.
Only a short while after I had returned to my post infront of the gates of Akkaio I heard hatefilled shouts echoing through the streets. A certain Enkidukai, named Skreit didn't seem to be satisfied over the results of the tournament he participated in in Hydlaa and was calling his adversary, Vaice out for a duel. Since the Vigesimi has outlawed any form of duels within the city walls I attempted to calm both tempers and prevent any bloodshed. Some Enkidukai tribes hold honor as a very high value and are used to solving disputes with duels to the death so it was not easy for me to convince both parties to lower their weapons. Luckily I managed to convince them to take their fight outside of the city limits though so that nobody lost their face and I was not forced to arrest anyone.

We have gained yet another valuable member of the community, Archon. He has decided to serve in the Vaal Guard to defend his community members aside from his position in the Council and tasks as a Vaalnor Shop Inventory Manager. Since Archon has served as a volunteer on guard duty in the past I saw no problem with assigning him as a Guard right away. I will probably even promote him as soon as we need a better hierarchy within our Guard unit.
