Sound and Music Problem!

I tried to find if there was allready post about this situation but was unable to find any. So... I have strange sound & music problem in the game. At the loading music and start music. The music has distortion, like its broken or something. And "lags" (dont know how to put that).Same with the sounds.. "cracks!". But i have had this since the couple new versions have come out. The older ones worked fine with music and sounds too. So if there's any cure for this i would be glad to hear it! Cause id like to keep the music and sounds on...  X-/

Hi, with "older ones" you mean previous to 0.13 or previous to 0.14?
For me the sound works decently, there is some minor level of "scratch", but it is definetely acceptable.
If for you the problem is definetely more than a "little scratch" it would be interesting to know, I believe, what kind of sound card do you have and if you have updated - if possible - its drivers.

I'd like to confirm this happens for me too. I've got a Abit AA8XE motherboard with inbuilt Realtek High Definition Audio. I've just found a new driver for the audio, so I'll install that when I get home, and report back. It only started happening with the 0.14 release.

It seems to be the Ambient noise especially in the Death Realm.. maybe the effects or something put over the Ambeint rumbling...

but your right the noise when you turn it down and dont have it blasting high is not noticable in most areas.. but in the death realm its really bad.. especially when Ambient Noice using Reverb and bass rumble are added to background music.

Does the sound engine try to render the sound in the Preffered Audio Quality ?

mine (ie the windows setting) is default to 24Bit 96Khz because I used it alot for recording.

Perhaps the thread doesnt have enough processing power OR the mix buffer is too small for High Def output.

i have similair sound problems and i have a epox 4pda5+ mobo with the realtek alc850 chip, the crackling started with .14 tho i had some minor crackling with the older versions but nothing like this, tho the sound can get clear sometimes but i can't have music and ambient on just becuase of the crackling

This sounds alot like this.

So yes there are a few people who are having this problem, and hopefully it will be fixed.  (When is the unknown)  :-\
