No fatigue from running and an invinsible Tef
« on: July 05, 2006, 07:58:32 pm »
Hello,

I noticed two bugs when after the recent update to .15.
1- My fatigue level does not lower when running.
2- On Ojaroad2 at the deadend where there are two Tefs, one of them seems to be invisible.  My character swings at it and my stamina keeps dropping but the Tef's health does not go below 96%.

Welcome.

1) is already known and fixed - see http://bugs.hydlaa.com

2) is probably "Daddy Tefusang", stronger than an Ulbernaut!

During times of server lag, sometimes not all the messages from the server make it through to your end, meaning that sometimes health and mana bars are not updated correctly. If it's not a reoccuring issue, I wouldn't worry about it.
What did your chat messages say? Did you swing at it but missed a lot perhaps?
The internet is "the terrorists'" most important weapon, they say.
Wrong.
Fear is their most important weapon.

There are some balance issues with NPCs that will be fixed soon.

My regular character was strong enough to go against ordinary Tefusangs and Trepors, but he had to stay away from the daddy Tefusang and of course from Ulbernauts. In the new 0.3.15 version he is practically invincible having two Ulbernauts giving him a "friendly massage" and taking no damage.

A newly created character can go against any NPC in the Sewers without any fear of death, but also fails to do any damage to them. The first NPC I found that managed to kill him was a Consumer.

Thank you for the replies.

Thank you LigH - I guess I should learn to use all my available resources.

As for the Tef, I tried 4 or 5 times to fight him.  Even when I came back after a couple of minutes he had not regenerated any of his missing health.  I would register hits several times at 30-35 damage but his health dropped a total of .1 after three hits.  Also, he never did any damage to me.

I'm not too worried about it as I am sure there are a lot of problems to work out with the recent release.  Just wanted to bring the issue into the light.

Thanks again for the help.

Monsters, too, seem to have

- agility to avoid being hit
- armor to take a hit without much damage.

So you need to have developed basic stats (like strength) as well as the weapon skill to deal damage good enough to both "hit a moving target" as well as "pinch their thick skin or fur at all". Or to say it differently:

Beginners in fighting will hit the monster neither often nor strong enough to hurt it enough.

Could you specify the bug ID? I am running the most updated Linux client and am experiencing the same problem the OP referred to. I am lamentably bad at searching, and as such have been unable to find the entry on bug tracker.
