updater couldn't create dir
« on: June 14, 2006, 01:28:45 am »
I am new to linux and I tried to run the updater and got the message couldn't create directory ./updatertemp. If anyone has had this problem and could possibly give me step by step instructions on how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Assuming that you didn't mess around with different installations options, I guess the problem is that your normal user doesn't belong to the games group.

As root (or with sudo) enter the following command on the console (konsole):
Code: [Select]
usermod -a -G games your_user_name
If it still doesn't help, try the following:
Code: [Select]
cd /opt/planeshift
chown -R your_user_name:games ./
