Planeshift Songs
« on: June 11, 2006, 10:22:32 pm »
I thought it might be fun to have a thread for songs modified for the Planeshift world.

I'll start off with an ode to Yliakum, based off the song by Johnny Cash called I've been Everywhere.

I was totin' my pack along the long dusty Ojaveda road
When along came a trepor with an elf ridin' as its load.
If your goin' to Ojaveda, Mack, with me you can ride,
And so I climbed up on the trepor and I settled down alongside.
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand,
And I said, 'Listen! I've traveled every road in this here land'

I've been everywhere, man
I've been everywhere, man
Crossed the ruins bare, man
I've breathed the mountain air, man
Travel...I've had my share, man
I've been everywhere.

I've been to
Hydlaa, Ojaveda, Ojaveda Hydlaa, Hydlaa, Ojaveda, Ojaveda Hydlaa,
Hydlaa, Hydlaa, Hydlaa Ojaveda, Ojaveda Hydlaa, Ojaveda Ojaveda.

I've been everywhere, man
I've been everywhere, man
Crossed the ruins bare, man
I've breathed the mountain air, man
Travel...I've had my share, man
I've been everywhere.

LOL

It's to the tune of "Head over Heels" by Tears for Fears. Not as recognizable, but still pretty catchy. Hear it once, and you should be able to match it up. I'll post a link to the music if anyone can't find it.

I wanted to fight Clackers alone
And complain 'bout glitchy weather
But the lag that eats bandwidth starts to drive me insane
It won't escape my attention
You can try to keep an attack with the magical runes
Or just passive evasion
I'm getting lost seas of color cus of driver issues
Oh your wasting my ping
You're just wasting my ping

Something happens and I'm heels over head
I never stand a chance when my ping kills me dead
Something happens and  I'm heels over head
Oh don't take my lewt
Don't steal my lewt
Don't, sell it away

I traveled to Hyldaa square today
And thought about newbies
And then with a single click I had challenged him then
No no no, I have no more potion
My attacks won't affect him now there must be some mistake
And I'm going to death realm
It's so hard to be a fighter with a sword in your hands
Oh I die so...

Something happens and I'm heels over head
I never stand a chance when my ping kills me dead
Something happens and  I'm heels over head
Oh don't take my lewt
Don't steal my lewt
Don't, sell it away

And this is my last stand now
I'm on the line to the cable guy
And this is my last stand now

"There's a lady whos sure, all that glitters is mined
And she's buying a groffel from heaven
When she gets there she knows
If Harnquists' is closed
With a word she can't get her pet groffel

ooooooh and she's buying a groffel from heaven."

I bet you all know what this is...  :whistling:

Can't resist a good parady thread.  Ok Drahlian, you asked for it.   ;D

Remember the Munchkins in 'The Wizard of Oz'?

*puts on a cute little costume and funny-looking hat, then breaks into a song and dance routine*

We represent The Dwarven Star Guild
The Dwarven Star Guild, The Dwarven Star Guild
And in the name of The Dwarven Star Guild ....
We are going to war with the Dwarvesbane.   :whistling:

(This is a song about how I got lost after the update changed the layout... based on the City Escape theme from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.)

Whoo!
Oh yeah!

Running around and I'm feeling down,
Got places to go but the way I don't know,
I turned around and was back where I came,
I'm totally lost and I can't seem to get out!
Must keep on moving ahead,
I'll ask somebody, follow their way instead!
I'll get to Hydlaa again,
things are not the way they've been!

Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, follow me.
Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, prove it to you...
Follow me!

Oh yeah!

Danger's still lurking around every turn,
If you fall, then you will die and learn!
If you keep playing then you'll make it through.
Got no other options, only one thing to do!
There'll be more updates ahead.
They'll probably change things just to mess with our heads.
I'll find the way no matter where that may be.
Take my lead, I'll set you free!

Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, follow me.
Follow me, set me free,
Trust me and we will escape from the city.
I'll make it through, prove it to you...
Follow me!

Follow me!

I'll make it through, oh yeah!

How could you forget about the oleplayers hymn
RING THEIR BELLS (aka "The Munchkin's Theme" )    to the tune of "Jingle Bells"
http://www.hack.org/~mc/writings/hackerdom/ring-their-bells.text

If you don't like clicking links... here a part of this:

Quote
Slashing through the Orcs
With a good two-handed blade
Over corpses we go
And through the gore we wade
Mace on helmet rings
Making bodies fly
What fun to sing our Slaying Song
And watch these suckers DIE!
...
well... got no Orcs and two-handed swords yet, but well see what time brings... If we eventually run of rats in the sewers  ;)

Chorus...
Quote
Oh, ring their bells with swords and spells
Don't let 'em get away!
We're brave and bold for fame and gold
We'll make a lot today!
Oh, ring their bells with swords and spells
Don't let 'em get away!
We'll hack and slash and blast and trash
And blow these dudes away!

and finally:
Quote
We appear in Hell
In front of Satan's throne
Our Cleric waves us out the door
And takes him on alone!
Satan's legions don't
Want to let us go
Our Techno pulls a bazooka out
And NUKES 'em 'till they GLOW!
Perhaps we should ask the Devs to upgrade DR... would be easier anyway... if you die you can continue fighting right where you are  :P
You think I cannot kill this Ulbers?
Hah! Let me show you!
Take this (+100%) FIREBAAAAaaaarrrrgh
