EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 012E5C2C

So this is what happened with me...

I downloaded the file from file cloud or whatever it is.
Saved it into my documents and once the download was complete double clicked it and started the download. I accepted everything.
Once that was done I ran the updater twice.
Then I tried to open planeshift and it came up, played a small bit of music then this message came up.

"Something unexpected has happened in PlaneShift Crystal Blue
Details: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 012E5C2C

Would you like to save a diagnostic file?"

If I say yes it comes up with something about "Saved dump file to program files PlaneShift crystal blue version etc etc... Please consult the forums for more details. So here I am

If I say no it comes up with "Psclient has caused an error in STDREP.DLL
Psclient will now close.
If you continue to experience problems try restarting your computer. (which I have done three times now.)

You have to install a patch before running the updater :} Follow our Install Instructions here - first making sure that you have no leftover PlaneShift processes still running in your background (a certain way to make sure of this is to just reboot and then patch immediately).

Well I got the patch and what not... but now even updater wont work...

What happens when you try to run the updater? Also when you extracted the files from the patch and put them inside your main PS directory, did you make sure to overwrite all?

It says updatr hascaused an error, updatr will now close.

And I don't have a directory or anything. When I downloaded I just got an icon into my documents. I installed it and something came up in my start menu and I used that from there on. I'm currently re-installing...

When you install the game, all the files go into C:\Program Files\PlaneShift Crystal Blue by default. This is the directory into which you have to put the files from the patch.

Lol... well theres my problem... where can I find the directory?

• Go to "My Computer" from your desktop
• Click on "Local Disk (C:)"
• Open the "Program Files" folder
• From there open the "PlaneShift Crystal Blue" folder

And there is your PlaneShift directory :]

If the torrent is giving you a hard time, not connecting to peers, then feel free to use the download mirrors.
