sayin hello (now need help)

I just downloaded the file and update and am getting ready to install and check this world out.  Was looking for another MMORPG as i got bored with Runescape and this looked really promising.  Just trying to come up with a decent name right now.  So hiya to everyone.

Welcome to planeshift. This is a great community, and I find most to be helpful. Maybe take a look at the players guide (link can be found in my signature below) and it would be wise to check out the planeshift forum and see sticked threads. Some are most helpful. Have fun in game and watch out for the end of the world.  :whistling: This world is easy to fall off of, and seems flat not round.

i'm confused.  I run the program and when i get to the login screen, it shows fragnetics as the server and says failed next to it.  I've reloaded 3 times and still no joy.  I've been through the FAQ's and can't see anything similar.  Help would be appreciated

The server is currently down for updates. Once we are done with the update, you will get a message on the main web page and also here.

it seems you have chosen a bad time to sign up... :)

the developers have taken the server down to add some things and repair some things.

This could take as little as an hour from my posting to a week, depending on all the secret things they are working on.

My advice is keep an eye on this forum, especially any items regarding downloads or clients.  You might want to bone up on bittorrent and mutorrent, the preferred methods of downloading. 

As for the name keep it medieval sounding.  If you think you are being really cute and make a name like Justakid Likebart, you will likely have your name changed for you by a gm.

I bet you could get away with that one on that technicality, too...

If you use google, type in Medievil name gen. You are bound to get a site with a name generator on.
