Have You heard of this game ?

Watch the E3 2006 trailer

PlaneShift is falling behind... :sweatdrop:. Or is it just different ? Games always look better on videos and screenshots, than in real action.

PlaneShift is falling behind... :sweatdrop:.

We've been falling behind since the project started :P Mainly because CS doesn't support all the funky engine features those other games have (yet). Also because it's more important to Talad to have decent compatibility with older hardware than having a really good looking game which is fair enough I suppose (we could  have larger textures, although even that is really limited to CS's performance right now).

That's gorgeous. Would SLAUGHTER my video card, but gorgeous nevertheless.

It doesn't seem to be open source, though? Or am I missing a piece of the site..?

That doesn't look anything like an MMO.

I think planeshift is quiet a bit ahead, actually. First of all, I'm here. That counts for something...I think.

I've been actively following its development since its start. It's designed and developed by Funcom, makers of Anarchy Online which I've played a lot, so that's how I know about AoC.

It has some awesome features, and a different take at combat and magic than any of the current commercial mmo's which are just point and click. Age of Conan isn't.
It will also have formation combat, horseback combat, huge sieges on both npc villages and guild held battlekeeps and lots of other nifty stuff like crafting and drunken brawling. I'll be trying it out for sure, and if it's any good, I'll stick with it.

If you think Planeshift is "behind", just play Castle of the Winds for a while then switch back.

I am not complaining or anything, it just makes me sad that such good game like PlaneShift has not enough resources to progress faster also on technological area. Well, PS project has other goals, I must reconcile to it. ...or change it myself ;).

...I like pretty games and darnit, I wanna make pretty things to go in them...

I could sign under that ;).

Mainly because CS doesn't support all the funky engine features those other games have (yet).

Sure, CS does not support all funky features, but it supports some of them :). And hopefully it will be better and better...

Trailers like that showing AoC in action just make me drool...
