Interesting video. Kind of reminds me of a few other things.
1) Executive Order 12333 (
http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/eo12333.htm). Dunno if it is still valid or if it got tossed in the shredder along with everything else, but it is a good one. This one goes along with USSID 18, (Found at
http://cryptome.org/nsa-ussid18.htm) and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode50/usc_sup_01_50.html). Chapter 36 in particular. You can fill in the redacted portions of one document with contents of another if you look really closely.
2) Anyone here read Heinlein? I know, his books were predominantly fiction, but he was a very perceptive man. He predicted many technological advances and social trends decades before they actually occurred. If you have read Heinlein, read up on his "Future History" and a character named "Nehemiah Scudder" in particular. Sound like someone we know? Or maybe his successor? The way political leadership of the US has been going the last 50 or so years, it is like a pendulum that gains more momentum each time it swings. Moderate Left, Moderate Right, Heavy Left, Heavy Right, EXTREME Left, EXTREME Right.
3) Taxes? I know about the old "Death and Taxes" spiel, but that isn't exactly true. Most people and corporations that make a LOT of money, have lots and lots of ways to avoid the latter. Heck, all those Uber-Expensive clothes that the movie stars wear are almost all Tax Deductible because part of their job is keeping up appearances. As for the "Death" part of that phrase, even status and "political contributions" (e.g. all expenses paid trip to the Bahamas, new homes, guaranteed employment after term of office) still can't prevent it..
Oh well, off my conspiracy theorist hobby horse. I don't mind paying taxes, if they actually were to go to benefit those who actually benefit society. It still burns me that many corporations now include your status and ability to give them tax breaks for hiring you as part of your total "Hirability" score.
