omg! it was always a hair, na matter what you think or thought, its a hair! Everybody know already that you thought it was a hat and because of this, it isn't going to become really a hat.
There are loads of art elements which should change, but there are also not enough artists so just wait till soonTM

lol, I agree. either the texture or the model is making that charachter look horid
I think it's because the model on the face is of a fat, lumpy guy, but the texture is of a good looking man. the eyes are too small to fit where they would look best, but if you made them bigger, it would be unrealistic

The mouth area:  real facial hair follows the contours of the edge of the lips, including the indent under the nose

The Hair:  the texture of the hair is that of parted hair, with the ends coming down to the side, but the model is that of combed back hair or a mullet
this gives the appearance that he is wearing a hair net with a very tight mesh
or, because of the fin-like point at the top of the hair,  the hair model could also accomidate the texture of a fohawk-mullet, (lol... fohawllet?)
and then there are the little pookies on the sides, which kinda make it look like a hat, or a miniature afro.. kindof a.. fohawk-mullet-afro I guess, lol (foahawletfro?) which is the other reason it looks like he's wearing a hair net.

and this is my theory on why it looks so bad

Aye it looks fairly bad but not awful. There are people out there without meshes or textures so I'm sure that takes priority.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

How about instead of looking for every little flaw you can find, you give a little appreciation to the artist who dedicated his or her time and effort so that you can have an Ylian model at all?

I really do appreciate the work an artist went through to make the Ylian model. With that said I think that it is worth noting that the eyebrows are gray and very sparse. I do however agree that making models for those that don't really have one should be a priority.

*Edit*

The very sparse gray eyebrows make me feel ugly when roleplaying :( . Is it at all possible for that to somehow be changed by a GM for Malfini? Thank you very much.

GMs do not change character appearances, sorry :} We have no such ability.

Hadfael was morphing people to entirely different models/creatures for Halloween though. I don't understand then why they can't change my eyebrows or hair color.  :-\

*Edit*

What happened to the hair dyes that an NPC was selling?

Because morphing to a completely different model and changing small aspects of a model are different things, and we cannot do the latter. Moreover, it would not be permanent but reset upon your next login. To make a permanent change would require messing with the character database, and no dev is open to such requests - your character creation choices are there to stay until the next character creation.

I understand Karyuu, however to be honest I never chose "gray sparse eyebrows" in character creation. I didn't even have any small aspect choices when I made Malfini.

*Edit*

Do you know why hair dye was removed from the game?

I understand that new textures/hair colors were not available when you made your character, but there's seriously nothing we can do to change your appearance right now. I also don't know why hair dye was removed - Xordan's guess is it was done by mistake.
