Verizon doesn't know the difference between .002 cents and .002 dollars.
Before George went to Canada, he asked Verizon the rate for data and voice transfer. They told him, "Point zero zero two cents per kilobyte."

He was surprised then to receive a bill for Point zero zero two dollars per kilobyte.

Instead of getting charged $.7141, Verizon is charging him $71.41.

This is his call as he tries to explain to Verizon the difference between $.002 and $.00002.

It would have been good if he could have used the right examples to explain the situation.
If he would have said simply convert the .002 cents to dollars BEFORE multiplying by his usage, everything would work according to their quote.

Simple terminoligy, and proper steps are so easy to mix up

Take .002 cents, Multiply it by 500, what do you get?

1 cent.

1 cent right?

Let's do this, 35,000/ 500 (Divide 35 Thousand, by 500, to see how many cents we get)

Oh, 70 cents? Makes sense... but wait a sec... you charged me 70 dollars?

Lol ya i know guys i used nice numbers.

His number was like near 35 thousand, so i just used that, but you get the idea, and he owes like 77 cents....

Maybe they would have gotten it that way?
