zlib1.dll problem
« on: February 14, 2007, 06:30:59 am »
Hello fellows,

I have compiled CEL, CS and planeshift, but when I try to run Updater to get the artwork it asks me for zlib1.dll.  >:(

I tryed to get zlib1.dll from MySQL utils folder and even download it at zlib page, but it gives me the error:

"The ordinal 73 could not be located in the dynamic lik library zlib1.dll."

Do you have any ideas about how can I fix this problem? :detective:

thnx.

I would suggest joining the IRC channel #planeshift-build on irc.freenode.net so you can get realtime answers to your question.

Also, when describing a problem, it would be a good idea to provide info about your build system - operating system, build tools and so on.

The two build guides which covers the most real-estate in this field are:

I'm using Windows XP with VS 8.

I decided to get everything again and try to compile. let's see what hapens... If I get the same error, I'll join MIRC.

Thanks for the answer.

No worries. If my memory does not fail me, zlib1 should be in the CS package already, as it's required for building it. (or more like it - the CS libs) I recall someone on IRC asking about this sometime ago, but I don't know how he solved his problem. Maybe you need to double check if the paths have been set correctly? (both from MSVC and environment variables)

I think you can also copy manually the dll file if needed into the planeshift folder and see if it works out. You might have some path that is incomplete or wrong.
