We need more sexism in Planeshift. Makes it more interesting.

Having 99% of the female characters as housewives will make things very interesting...

What would female characters RP be based on then:

starts washing some dishes
lightens the oven
washes the clothes
cooks food for the husband

That would be the most interesting form roleplay ever done for all those with female characters!  :P

I mean the concept of sexism - there should be some sexist people. It's just unnatural otherwise.

That doesn't mean society should be sexist... Or that the female characters should accept sexism...
In fact, Anadyr would probably have you killed :P

Always will be a male running guild oh and to hopefully keep any sexist remarks down even though this is what the settings says there was a female included in the discussion of makeing the guild and she was happy to have this rule.

Well just in case you had not guessed that female is me, lol. I was a bit pissed at first but it is true and natrual that a clan like ours is run by males and how I see it is if I dont like it I find another guild. I play a big part in running this guild behind the scenes and that is good enough for me. I dont need the title to make me feel good, but spose we are all different. I have made sure though that our female speicies know beforehand that they cannot ever challenge for Chieftain so the choice is theirs.

ok think about it even outside the ps setting every pack animal is lead by the strongest male and technicaly if we fully bassed it on that outside of ps setting fenkis would not even gain elder status{our council}

Nefert slaps Alliva hard. "Maybe that is true but I feel that this did not have to be mentioned just to prove a point, Remember it is 2007 now and things have changed."

Blayze!

ok, I knew this issue would get a few responces, lets just clarify a few things here, The guild is set out as described in the PS background for the Enkidukai race as being led by the Dominant male, we are supposed to be a traditional tribe that found it way to Ojaveda so the old values still exist, everyone keeps having a go at guilds for " not keeping to the PS setting" and now there is one people are still having a go, for your information, ooc the guild leader is only a title and figurehead male for rp purposes to keep it in this setting, the guild is run equally by the elders as well as the Chieftain and females play an important role here, in fact Nefert is a key member without whom we would have half of what we do such as the website, she is in no way subordinant.
In character fenkis are also respected warriors, not " dish washers" they play an important role in the pack, and we only know too well fenkis can fight just as well as menkis in some cases better, they can sit on the counsel of elders and train up and coming warriors as well as advising the chieftain giving a level headed " female " opinion which in most cases is the wiser option, hehe. but the chieftain has the final say, as regarding leadership they cannot challenge, but the tribe has come to a new part of the realm with new ideas so who knows, these females may get a few ideas above thier station, hummmm......could this be a future rp coming here?, some may consider it sexist but hey I didn't write the psycology of the enki race, I thought it would be different in a number of ways, lets face it in other guilds nobody can challenge for leadership, it leaves many doors open for the future to keep things interesting and yes technically some may call it sexist but sexism is a part of life, more and more scream for realism in the game, this is just one example, just because a tradition and belief states that a female cannot lead the pack it doesn't mean that they are not valued in any way.

As I said, it isn't even true at that ;)

OOC I have to agree that you chose your own guild. I even agree that the psychology description makes it apparent that it's normal that the strongest male leads, my problem is that it however useally becomes something to point at to make it OOC impossible. Traditions you know can be broken, but the gammechanics one can't overrule. If you however say you as a guild are leaving the door open for this tradition to be changed by RP......

Have to say I like the idea very much that there is a way to become leader of your guild without the leader voluntary resigning.
