Client Crash Linux -Solved-
« on: March 03, 2007, 03:22:13 am »
The server went off line.  No biggie, happens.  After it came back, my client connects, let's me log in, starts loading the maps, and then crashes.  Nothing has changed on my end.

Is there a new .bin I need to install?

Help?
Thanks,
Ted

Edit:  There was another session running it.   I switched and ended the dupe process in a console.  Hopefully this helps others.

Sorry, I think I have your same problem. But what do you mean with "another session running it"?
My client crashes when it loads maps, and also kubuntu seems freezed.

by "another Session Running it" he/she means that he/she was logged into his/her computer more than once, and had tried to run the game on the other Session, but it had possibly failed and not removed its process correctly.

Each log-in is referred to a session, under The Windows Operating System you can only run one session per user name (unless this has changed with Vista but I don't use Vista so can't say on that version). However under Linux the number of sessions per user name are virtually limitless!

However I do not think that this would be your problem as unless you have pressed the Ctrl+Alt+F(1-9) key combination and logged in again, you are not running it in another session. The best way to be sure, If you can not say for certain that you are not running multiple sessions, reboot the machine! ;D
