anyways, to clear some confussion of my humor post, let your character walk around and ask random people if there are some people who like to duel, kill rats or whatever this character like to do. I just got a new Idea for a guild... note to self: Do a guild against nubc4(3z0rz, we pwn noobs, IC: We are a cure against the mental ill, easy solution: Slay them down and free this burden from society.

Something I could not find mentioned here (probably because most people who come to this section are in a guild already) is how to choose a guild...

In my experience with MMORPG's the best method is to choose one with members that are on-line at the same time as you, and who ideals. rules and philosophies on game play fall along side your own, otherwise just go solo...

I think that's a good plan.  Picking a guild for "in character" reasons is a good idea as well, but I think it's pointless if you aren't having fun.  And to have fun, you have to like the people in the guild.

The best plan is to do both. You can use the guild list and search function in this forum to know more or less those guilds that would better suit you. If none suits you, you could either create one that does so, or remain as a freelancer. If some suit you, go in game and ask around for them. This way you'll find out about the activity of the members, about the veracity of the information posted and if you really enjoy it or not.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.
