Just A Few Questions :)

Howdy! I have a few questions...

1. Downloading it is about 6 to 10 hours - do you think this game is worth that time?

2. I am a HUGE magic fan, and I saw the crystal thing about it, with the Kran and the Lemur, if I download the game I am thinking about the Kran, any suggestions?

3. Dieing sounds like a HUGE hassle! In all the games I have played, when you die you are spawned. On this game, you are sent to another realm and you have to go through a maze...? If dieing harder than usual games? I saw from one thread that when someone dies, some people just create a new character.

Ah yes, I have another question ^^

They say the only way to train is paying an NPC, and I hear one of the only ways to get "tria" is buy training... So how do you train if you don't have money to begin with

1. depends on how much imagination you have I guess, a lot of people play out stories for their characters, role playing is encouraged. You can probably download the torrent at a cyber cafe in an hour but as long as you can do other things while it is downloading at home what difference does it make if you leave it go overnight?

2. Magic is less well developed than combat as are the other skills. Many are undeveloped completely. I've been playing a kran for quite a while and the specified difference between the races are not well developed. I recommend you read all the settings stuff on the main site and the guides on these forums, pswiki is also a place to look.

3. It takes a while to find your way out at first but it is not really much trouble. It is slated to get harder in the future but as long as it is knowing where to go how hard can it be after you have done it a few times.

You do not have to be training to make money, you can fight, or mine without buying the theory, assuming you have at least some proficiency which you can start with. It is just that if you can afford it it is better to be getting practice while you are doing all that because then your skills are getting better. You only get practice if you buy training, you still accumulate progression points for the activities and these are used with tria to purchase the training.

I might point out, that you might want to hold off on that download, since version .019 will be released in the next few days, and that would be another download, and you cant play until that comes out anyhow

I'd like to add to point #3 that while dying is a little daunting at first, you can always (politely ) ask for help and it is willingly given.  Once you know the way, you get quicker at the maze and it takes a couple of minutes to traverse.

(it didn't take me that long to download ... but the game is well worth the time ... -sniff- I MISS it!! )

1. Obviously I thought it was worth it and still do .. else I wouldn't be on here

2. Magic is definitely unique and more and more interesting spells are popping up but at the moment the system is underdeveloped and unbalanced. People like Xordan are working hard on making the magic system work though.

3. Dying is handled in a quite unique manner as well in this game but don't worry. It is only hard to find your way out of the maze the first time. Those stories about account deleting when they die were most likely from the time when there was a bug with the Death Realm map lighting, which caused players not to see a bloody thing. You can imagine how tough walking along steep ridges and narrrow paths is when all you can see is different shades of black. With that issue pretty much resolved or knowing various fixes the Death Realm is just a small maze. Like it's been said, there are plans to turn it into an extensive world from which escaping would be hard .. but then again who says you'll want to escape instead of explore that big new world?

As for holding off on the download .. there is no need. The latest update is experiencing some issues and has been postphoned so the older version has been brought back up and is online. Even if you download this version you should be able to use the updater to quickly convert to a newer version. Even if this isn't the case, whenever a new version is out and you use bittorrent, the large player base will always sustain various seeds and you're bound to have a pretty quick download.
