Stuck for some days in "Vresa New Sword" quest.

Hello,

this is my first post, sorry to annoy you directly with a request but I'm stuck for so long in this one...

In short, Vresa asks for a new sword, I accepted, got the written order and gave it to Harnquist. He asked me for coal (done) and the experiment blade from B.D.
B.D. asks in return for the sword a Dark Circle ring. After a long journey and some long fights, I finally got one. I tried to give the ring to B.D. but he refuses it (B.D. does not need that). I must have tried an hundred different sentences to see if I could trigger something but without result so far...and I'm tired of it. Any help is welcome if you know the answer. If you don't want to spoil publicly this quest, thank you to answer via a PM.

there are many bugs right now in quests and the devs are working on fixing them. you just happen to have one in this quest. if we knew what exactly it was we would have it fixed already.

You mean nobody is able to complete the quest or is it something I did that blocked the situation ? (like giving the coal to Harnquist prior to giving the ring to B.D. ?)

There is a bug with
- quests that involve the same NPCs: if you have more than one quest involving the same NPC, that NPC won't respond to one (possibly both?) quests.
- server crashes while doing quests: in case of a crash, NPCs can forget the state the quest is in. Sometimes it is possible to restart it from the point that was working last (possibly asking about the blade again), but that also doesn't work all the time.

The quest itself is working, as I completed it recently. However, I did not have a server crash during it, and I didn't even dare to log out, just in case. Still, before figuring that out, I have accumulated several quests that seem to have gone sour on me.

I had indeed some other quests but none interfering with same NPCs:
- become a laanx member (bringing 1000 trias)
- save edrich reputation
- ring of familiar quest

An advisor told me to do all quests chronologically, what I did. All succeeded except this one but perhaps am I missing something ?

Maybe I shouldn't have given the coal to Harnquist before coming with the blade ?
I, of course, restared the conversation with BD to trigger something but without success.

Would it be possible to have your log for just that part ? Maybe better to send it by PM to avoid any spoiling. I will try then to submit a small bug report (and maybe I could find something that can be corrected).

There are many bugs in quests and most are engine issues and have nothing to do with the quests working. You will just need to wait for the engine team to solve these bugs. [your bug is one of these]

Caarrie: should I submit a bug report with my logs or not ? The goal being of course to help the team resolving this particular bug since one can make it and the other one not...hence my assumption it could be related to a certain order of doing things ?
