I probably have no idea how the system works exactly, but i believe in one thing: realism.
I think it should be perfectly possible to make any amount of keys, just like in real. And anyone with a key should be allowed to open the doors and thus enter. And the owner(s) of the house should be allowed to change the locks too.
I also believe such a structure like a guild house should never be left unprotected. To reflect that, a NPC guard can be places inside near entrance, who will try to stop anyone who is not wanted.
This means that those with keys (who are already lucky to have them) still have to use force against the NPC, or just ignore him, as he is not a fighter, but a lackey for instance. And then the house owners will know who entered the house, as he can tell that.
Just a thought to make the game experience more real and less game artificial reality.

And i would like to say that from all guilds, the Royal House of Purrty deserved it at most. I can't think of another guild where it would be needed more and used better.

I don't see a reason for an NPC guard, unless if hired and paid. Players should attempt to play out their own guards, or hire someone to do it for them.

I believe there are plenty of guilds who would, at least, do as well with a house. I am, however, happy that she got the house she had wanted all along.

The Auction method fails to take into consideration the fact that this is a game and people can't always be present, therefore ruining the chances of those who can't play at the time. I trust there could be smarter ways to approach this. Petitioning for example, and auctioning, in a non real time fashion, whenever similar petitions are made. This would depend on GMs though, and I am aware that we currently believe that they shouldn't be overburdened. Or burdened.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

as with real life, auctions are only available to those who can be present.  Perhaps their aught to be 'estate agents originally run by NPC's where there is a closing date for bids.. and the highest bid wins. - however this could lead to over inflated pricing - or cornering of the housing market? but that is what happens in real life anyway...

Hello!

Well, I think everyone can calm down again. I'm pretty sure that most of the guilds have their guild in the game already. So far it went pretty well without the need of an interior. But before any other house get auctioned I would expect the DEVs/GMs responsible for it to contact the current inhabitants.
Each (guild) house should have lockable doors with his inhabtitants possessing the appropriate key. But the doors should be pickable, well, for the rogues, you know. 8)
Oh, and last I would like to congratulate the Royal House of Purrty on her new pretty home.

With kind regards

by the way, a huge thank you to all who allowed me to have my house in Hydlaa... characters such as Donari, Yanlora, Gag, Miaua and many more...

And of course a big hug to the devs who made it possible.
Miaua and Hassadria (Yay, they mention as separated, how dare  :P) was glad to help... though we wasn't that much of help   :sweatdrop:
It would be shame to sell house, which was always RPed as Royal house's to some else guild.
Congrats  :flowers:
Hope there won't be any troubles with buying Lair's house  ::|

GM's found out about this auction at the same time as the players

There is an element of 'trust' involved in showing people around the house... as it involves giving a key - and if that person is not nice, they might not give the key back.  I do so hope this does not happen - and if it does will GM's be able to retrieve the key?
Nope. The player did not obtain the key by cheating or exploiting. You gave it. If the player decides to steal the key, that's IC. Anyone calling a GM would be OOC.

Not entirely true - you have to trust the player too.   Some players may act the part of nice - then when they get the key claim not to have received it and not give it back.

Also, if you are letting someone into your house - do you actually in RL hand them the key, no, you open the door then let them in, so, in fact the obtaining of the key to enter is rather ooc in this case and to retain it is definately ooc!  - so in truth there will always be an element  of trust. Fact.

I think for now we can assume that everyone in the guild with permission to enter the Guildhouse receives a key so that he/she can enter at all times. You assume that the guildhouse is like a normal house, of which the doors are always opened. And that the act of giving a key is the same as a house owner telling a friend that he can enter. I do not think that this is the case however. A guildhouse is completely different.

Settings should confirm this however.

As it stands, yes, all guild members would be handed two keys...  one for their personal use, and a spare to 'loan' oocly to guests to enter.

I believe the Dev team are looking at other ways to work this.

well it appears currently if you have your own key for your house you cant use another key for another house to enter as a guest or whatever.

Actually you should be able to have as many keys as you can carry with each of them working from any inventory slot.  Also you can have a key be set to many different locks.  If you can prove this not true please create a bug entry for it, thanks.
