weapon repair glitch
« on: October 22, 2007, 08:12:46 pm »
I just had a seemingly normal short sword take 55 seconds to repair instead of the usual (for me, lvl21 repair) 20 seconds. A regular axe took 20 seconds. Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

It will have to do with the rise of weapon prices. Most weapons (and some armor) costs more from NPCs now. Whether or not this is a bug is not to my knowledge though.

Hmm yes I see what you mean about the prices. At 450 gold per repair kit I won't be doing free repairs anymore. Actually I guess I can make a lot of cash fighting rogues or whatnot so perhaps it won't be too bad. Hopefully they intend to jigger the repair rates down as a broadsword is now 1200 tria to buy while a longsword is only 900. I imagine these rates may change as they see the effect on the economy.

The discussion about prices is kinda off-topic but you can check this instead.

Actually as was brought to my attention in a previous thread weapon repair is intimately related to weapon price. That indeed is the reason for my unexpectedly long short sword repair. However I do not suppose there is too much more to say for this thread.

Certainly I have faith that things are done to improve the game and unintentional consequences are dealt with as they come up.

Just in case it helps someone the looted modified weapons seem to have had the new prices erratically. Some seem absurdly expensive: a Copper(?) Light Claymore was valued at over 5000 tria, it weighed less than normal but hit about the same, while others seem relatively cheap: an embossed broad sword was valued at about 320 tria and did about half again as much damage as a normal one.
