This is mostly a problem for people who have Enkidukai characters. Why do players of that race have to spawn in Ojaveda when they die? I'd like to see some kind of system that allows you to spawn in the city of your choice, but there'd have to be a limit to how many times you could change it in a day/week/month/+ so people would not abuse it. Most of the time my characters are in Hydlaa, but my main is a fenki, so she always spawns in Ojaveda. The problem with that is most of her deaths are caused by glitches and bugs, which makes the death penalty irritating. Other than that I love the DP, but this idea might stop a few complaints.
In the last topic, the suggestion wasn't even discussed. Instead it turned into an argument about why Ojaveda could potentially attract more players than Hydlaa (which is extremely unrealistic and likely to never happen; making more events won't help). So I decided to revise it. Remember not to go off topic this time!
Enkidukai characters are often cut off from most business, roleplay, and such due to the fact that they spawn in Ojaveda. And I know there are a few non-enki characters that would rather to spawn there. In the final version of PlaneShift, I've heard characters would get a choice of what city they spawn in, so why not make some kind of system that allows them to do that now? It shouldn't be that hard, I'm sure, since there's only two cities so far. And the system won't have to be permanent in case the portals that allow one to go to the preferred city are introduced.
The reason why I'm wishing for this is because it's difficult to continue roleplays when bugs and glitches occur that kill my character, who happens to be a fenki. She mostly spends her time in Hydlaa, so it's kind of a problem. And, let's say you're a Dermorian who's roleplaying in Ojaveda. It would really suck if you were on top of the warehouse and slipped, falling to your death, and had to come back all the way from Hydlaa while the DP (Death Penalty) was in effect. So it's not the fact that Ojaveda is boring, and we're not getting into that silliness again; otherwise this topic will have been made for no purpose.
Please stay on topic.
