Where can I dig

This is the first time I have ever played this games and it's only my second day of playing it. I have passed the tutorial and in the town with the big Grey Stone fountain in the middle. I heard a lot about digging for gems etc. Can someone please tell me where I can dig and where to get to that location. I have a pick and know how to dig, just not where. Also, will this increase my money or will I need to do some other things. If so then can someone please give me a detailed description. Thanks people.

Well, did you try asking some other miners in-game? Perhaps there is even a guild focussing on mining and crafting which you can join, they will surely have lots of information to help you out.

How do you tell if someone is a miner or not? Also how can I find the guilds? Thanks.

you dont go to a certain place to find guilds you have to look for one that fits your character try the guild forum here and see what you can find.

I got a dig, but it told me I can't dig twice in one area, how are you meant to make money if you can't use the same spot often, or is there a time limit between uses of one area. Can someone explain.

What it means is you can't dig in exactly the same area, try moving just a little to the side.  I hope someone recognizes the need for a book or map of the mines.  It could be a pretty good seller.
