Phinehas I talked to UTM about this thread and I admitted that I did not understand exactly what he was getting at therefore my replies were incorrect to this post. Though if you think of all the things you have said to me you can understand why I posted as I did. This just an explanation, there is no reason for us to argue over it.

A lot has been written up about role play here in the forums. I would like to see a new thread created on role play and what the current players think about it. How about another thread UTM?

Drama OOC can get tricky and cause some issues with in the community. OOC drama should just be kept to those who have an issue with each other. My first day back in game and I was pestered by OOC drama that had taken place since I was gone, and it made me not want to log in because the people who were causing it didn't seem to get the picture that I didn't care. It is a shame that there are some who don't seem to understand that this is a game of RP and when you babble on about your RL issue's with your life or just people you may have an issue with in game, it ruins it for those of us who like to keep that seperate.  I don't like RL bizz in my roleplay, it changes the mood. I can't for the life of me see why there are some who do? I wonder if they have ever heard of yahoo chat rooms?

This is why I hate noobs (not necessarily "newbs", just "noobs"). Like, there was this one certain character who really liked my character, Anarkia, and sort of fell for her, and next thing I know he's in love with me. And he was persistant about it. No matter how many times I told him how ridiculous he was, he wouldn't listen. That was the creepiest thing I've experienced on PS; I was considering leaving permanently. Some people just don't seem to get that this is the internet.

We do have fun. Lots of fun. Little of drama.

Example: Two people in an ambush - one hit on the head and unconcious, the other in general losing memories.

Took us about a month ... less to play the healing ceremony, but more to play the daily little issues handling a sick person. That's a challenge! ;)

I like this thread and what it is trying to do and say.

I think we have talked round and round and round about what rp is and another thread would be evil covered evil with evil sauce and a side of evil.

There is enough talk on this forum about rp to fill a russian novel.

Which one, War and Peace?
We're not evil. We're simply amazing.

Psch, I'll decide how I RP. Certain characters just aren't 'fun'. In fact, were I playing said character, I would try to suck the fun out of things, because that's staying true to your character - and that's good RPing...

I think utm's point is there is a tendency toward melodrama "Methinks the lady doth protest too much"

Gurn may want to kill me for this post, but roleplaying with this blue Kran has been absolutely hilarious. When you are laughing so much that you can hardly type, you know fun and humor is alive in PlaneShift.
