How do I exit the starting area?

How do I exit the starting area, which seems to be some sort of tutorial?

By doing the tutorial :) It will help you understand a bit about talking to non-player-characters (NPCs), doing quests, some crafting, fighting and magic. Start with the NPC near where you entered the game (select NPC, the npc tab and say hi I think).
If you get stuck, there is a tutorial to the tutorial somewhere in the new player forum (found it. Click here if you get stuck).
