planeshift doesn't run :O
« on: April 11, 2003, 02:23:07 am »
I just downloaded planeshift and it took up so much space when i tried to run it,  it froze. When i tried closing it it said \"not enough resources to perform task\". So i restart my computer, i get back on and when i go into my start menu to uninstall it theres not enough resources to do that. So i had to take off one of the programs i had that\'s not on start, so i\'d have enough memory just to uninstall it. Is there anyway you\'s guys (dev team) are gonna make it take up less space? If not, i won\'t be playing planeshift until i buy a new computer. :( :( :(

Only 3/4 off-topic: Will this game always take 15 minutes to load during the Loading Hydlaa Plaza screen, or is that just temporary?

Hmm, hard disk space is cheap so for the moment we won\'t be too concerned with the download size.  We will do what we can to reduce the amount of memory that the game uses but that is a seperate issue.

Ravenmaster, we\'ve made good strides in reducing the start up time.  Tests now show it to be as fast as 30 seconds in some cases.

sweet. Is that on like a regular computer?  Can you get it under a minute with 256 MB RAM and a T1 connection?
