You start seeing larger environments - so if your computer didn't show signs of struggling before, that would be a sensible time for it to start protesting.

There are some things you can do to decrease the lag, such as changing the detail of graphics in the in-game options window. You can set an FPS cap, as well as decrease adaptive distance for the camera. And in the separate PlaneShift Setup utility, you can downsample the textures. Plus, if you aren't using the most recent drivers for your graphics card, updating might show you a slight performance boost as well.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

The worst lag seems to be round Hydlaa plaza area and the section leading up the steps toward exit to bronze doors. Everywhere else seems to be fine, particularly at Ojeveda where I prefer to hang out most of the time. Still, thanks for the advice about the graphics, I'll play around with this to see if it gets better.

Update,

I've just upgraded memory from 512 meg of ram to 2 Gig of ram to go with my 3gz processor. Everything is very smooth indeed now with no lag problems. Cleaning out all the dust from the cooling fan helped too.
