permanently logged in after crash

Greetings.
First off, thank you folks for your tireless work on this project.
Since the 0.4.01 update that I picked up this morning, I managed to log in ok, but as soon as I opened the inventory, the client crashed. Since then, I'm getting a permanent message "log back in after 30 seconds".
Looking on other strings here, I've updated the XML file. I'm running a NV34 (GE Force FX 5200) graphics card. I'm hoping the XML file change will fix the inventory problem, but I can't check due to the "still logged in" bug.
Using Ubuntu Gutsy.
Please help.

I remember reading a similar problem somewhere (can't remember due to the p[osting frenzy following the update) but you may need to ask a GM to kick your character of the server.
