NPC interaction improvement
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:23:13 pm »
As a new player, getting used to the NPC interaction is awkward at times but is an interesting departure from the norm.

I'd like only one change: NPC's should be able to repeat quest information if you ask them.

E.g. On one of my first quests (take item) to person and tell them message) I did not know at the time I could make notes in the quest box,and after a crash I lost the NPC dialog history so I could not complete the quest. Nor could I delete it or restart or get a replacement item. Since my character was new I just deleted and started again this time noting the quest info.

Perhaps the NPC could respond to querys such as "What was your message to person?" or "What was the quest for item again?" or better yet, since OOC is not such a problem talking to an NPC, maybe just "repeat quest title info"?

While it is true that you can look at your logs with the current system, there are numerous reasons why this doesn't always solve the problem. System crashes, system upgrades, harddrive dying, playing on a different computer (since the character is stored on the server)... I think this is a valid feature request, even if it won't have a very high priority. I have run into this issue myself when traveling using a laptop, as opposed to my desktop at home.
