I can't launch planeshift

Ok I did all the steps in the How to install planeshift in ubuntu newbie guide and successfully installed planeshift and I launched the  client and I saw the error code so I did the fix for the error code, but now that I fixed it and I click the client nothing happens no error code no nothing no splash screen, The only one that works is the uninstaller. Please help!

fix for what error code? and what was the code?

And this is the code the thread told me to use for this error   [[     sudo chown -R your_username_here:users /opt/PlaneShift/      ]]

I use ubuntu 8.04

easiest thing to do is to reinstall ps not in /opt/ try putting it in /home/<your username>

ok I did it but now the fix to fix that error code doesn't work because it was made for opt.

Sorry for double post but I launched it through the folder. And it sais the server is offline? is that true or do I need to fix some more stuff. Oh and the updater isn't working ohow do I fix that?

ok now when I try to log in and I hit ok it just crashes, no error code, IT just closes the client. Oh and when I click the updater nothing happens. Please help!
