psclient crashes during Initialise World . .
« on: November 05, 2003, 01:08:14 am »
Hello,

Firstly, project looks really good, thanks for providing it !

My problem is, can build and run client locally from 2.0.010 source files, however crashes during world initialisation connecting to game.

Downloaded files:
PSV0.2.010.snapshot
PSV0.2.010-Cel_SnapShot.tar
PSV0.2.010-CS_Minimal_Snapshot.tar

Can I build a client to connect to the game server from these ? If theres extra files needed can I get them from CVS, and if so which ones ? Link wont stand downloading planeshift-0.2.010FullSourceAndArt.tar.gz . . .

Crash Details:
Built server and client from above. Ran server, loaded podium map, created chars in client and connected to local server, made dwarves fall into pit, everything seemed ok :)

Then created character and uploaded to game server. Game started to initialise, then client crashed during world initialisation; output before crash is -

New player requesting World!
SetTimeout!
Before LoadMapFile: time=361317
New player requesting Actors List!
CEL is searching for meshfact \'femdermorian\'...Found
Assertion failed: s != 0, file c:\\plane shift\\cel\\pf\\mesh\\meshfact.cpp, line 231

I\'m guessing this is because I don\'t have the right data for a female dermorian ( my created char was a mylian, so why loading femdermorian not sure . . .). Tried again, same fail (different meshfact). Tried again using Art directory from CVS, same result.

Sorry if this has been asked before, couldnt find it in forum.

thanks again,

Eudos.

ok, managed to download all the art files, and connected to game successfully.

Hyarra square looks good - cant get much further cause was a bit slow :) my comp. specs probably too low.
