How do you acquire a weapon?

I have been looking around for merchants, been trying \"buy\" and \"sell\" to them, but can\'t seem to find any one with a sword, or even a merchant who I can deal with. On the updates screen, it said with this next patch we could equip swords. Can you? If so, how?

swords can be found around town, above or below in the dungeons.

they are rare though, very rare. You may never find one, i know some people who have never found one yet.
And they are now on the verge of insanity.
