mathy,

I always seem to have one character, at least, who is randomly cast (except the name) and does no training or quests more than absolutely needed for basics.  One that used to be fun, would IC think he was the best warrior around, and a bragart.  but I kept auto accept on and as such he died a LOT.  of course he would RP that he was "sucker-stabbed" and you better watch out, because "Even death can not kill me!"  (of course anyone with double digit combat scores could kill him with a hit or 2...).

So while he had none of the mecanics, I RPed him as if he thought he did, made it real interesting when the real world (mechanics) did not match his expectations!

If only people would be quicker to accept his challenge and not assume I was some godmodder, it would of been even funner.

Nothing like having someone getting so annoyed with you that they hang out in oja to send you back to the DR over and over... "I will smite you this time"... crud.  hehehe

in short, you CAN RP without levling up, but IMO you should RP to match what your implemented stats are.  Want to be REALLY a master dueler? better grind a bit.  Otherwise how can you explain how you can never enter any events?  Of course you can RP a person who believes they are a master dueler, who could not fight their way out of a paper bag (is papermaking implemented yet, hehehe)

of course that is my opinion about this topic.

Bamko Thank You for making this more understandable to me. I will wait to see what others think before making any additional comments about role playing with or without game mechanics.
