Uninstalled with unistaller but icons still in menu bar.
« on: March 13, 2009, 04:32:35 pm »
I uninstalled PS with the uninstaller in Unbuntu but the icons from the game are sill in the applications pull down menu, they no longer look like the PS game icons, just like generic type icons with the same text as before PlaneShift Client, Setup, Uninstaller, and Updater.

How do I remove those icons from the menu?

Either of these should work
SMEG (Applications->System Tools->Applications Menu Editor) to uncheck delete it.
The other option would be to go to /usr/share/applications and delete it.

OK obviously I'm new to Ubuntu. But the Applications>System Tools> Application Menu Editor is not there, and I cant delete it from the /user/share/applications because  I don't have permission. I installed Ubuntu a week ago and I'm the only person who uses it. I set up a user name and password when I first started and  thought it would be an admin account since it is the only account. I tried to login to root using  the password of the the account I created , but that didn't work out.

Is there a default password for the Root account or something, or how do i set up an account for root access?

Hit Alt+F2 and in the box that appears type
gksudo nautilus

that should open the file manager in superuser mode
