Riverlings Return

There I was minding my own business in the Hydlaa Plaza when a lady start shouting of a need for strong fighters as a female enkidukai had been captured by riverlings at the gobble village. Having a soewhat curious nature and being a middling fighter at best I set off to see what I could see. It took me a while to get there and the lady seemed to be pacing me but when I arrived I found I was alone. Looking around in the clear light of day I saw nothing unusual until I literally stumbled over some remains. I gathered up these remains and determined that Ojaveda must be warned and set off forthwith. I arrived at Ojaveda and called out to the guards to no avail but managed to arose some of the inhabitants to the danger.

I then set out to return to the scene of the crime and got lost immediately on leaving the town as a thick fog had sprung up miraculously. I managed to make my way back to the huts and found a party in a running battle with some Riverlings. I placed the remains on the ground and set about watch. I was attacked several timesand was grateful for my thick skin and once was pulled into the water. I was ineffective as a warrior but less so as a decoy. In the end the riverlings fled after strewing rotton meat about.

What was it all about? I do not know but when the fog lifted the group returned to Ojaveda and made a report to Bhurral and an investigation will be made.

[I had hoped that some other accounts might be posted here with other participants perspectives and that these could form the basis for written reports the guards could use in their investigation.]

I was down by the river near where the Eagle Gobbles often gather. As I stood there I saw a Fenki who was surrounded by three Riverlings who was being forced along by the Riverlings. I followed this group from a distance.  The group made their way to the Gobble village where they stopped. I approached the group to see what was going on. It was clear that the Fenki was not with the Riverlings by her own will but had been captured. When she saw me she begged me to help rescue her.  I told the Fenki I was not a great fighter and would need to get help to saver her. She asked me to find her boyfriend but before she could tell me who she was or who her boyfriend was she was silenced by the Riverlings. At that point the Riverlings started looking at me like I was to be their next meal so I ran off in search of help.

The near by Plat mine was empty so I started the run into Hydlaa where I hoped to find some friends. Once I reached Hydlaa I was lucky and quickly ran into my friend Sanx who is a very accomplished fighter and also knows many people. With Sanxx's help along with Calak and Lelarar and some others we started to assemble a rescue party.  Sanxx went to Ojeveda to spread the alarm and recruit more people while I spread the word n the arena and the Plaza.

A group of brave fighters met near the Gobble village and planned a rescue attempt. We rushed into the gobble village but saw no evidence of the Riverlings or the captured Fenki.  As we stood around wondering what to do Billbous came and showed us the Enki remains he had found earlier. About that time the weather turned nasty and a thick river fog quickly rolled into the area. Visability was very limited and it was then that we started hearing large splashing sounds in the water. THose with good eyesight would catch fleeting glimpses of Riverlings in the water. One of the creatures was slow or unlucky and one of our party managed to kill the creature. The Riverlings started  trying to drag people into the river and a couple of our party were killed.

Finally there was a long period where no Riverling sightings were made and no attacks happened. At this point our group decided to go to Ojeveda and make a report to the guards.

The Council of Ochtarchal Advisers: Committee Three (COACT) demands to know what the authorities are doing to counter this slimy menace! Sub-human creatures must be cordoned off from the general population so as to reduce the threat that they will be deceived into wicked acts by nefarious citizens. Strict rules on human/Sub-human interaction must be enforced.
