GFX Problem
« on: April 29, 2009, 07:24:06 pm »
Alright.. I have installed PS on my new Ubuntu 9.04 installation, and it seemed to work. But when I start the game, it shows all 2D modeling, but nothing 3D. I believe the problem lies in my 3D/OpenGL, but I have no idea how to fix it since I'm new to Ubuntu. The chat-box works, so that actually proves my theory right somewhat.. I just have no idea how to fix it.

My GFX-Card is an Intel Mobile GM965. It's a fresh Ubuntu installation. It all worked on XP, so if I can't get this to work, I can just go back.. I just prefer Ubuntu (other than this problem) so I don't want to keep switching back and forth.

I hope somebody can help me.

Hello,

I guess you'd want to be sure that your graphic card and driver are correctly installed to launch openGL applications first.

I highly recommend you to check this on a more ubuntu-specific website.

Intel Mobile is not quite a fully supported, and not at all preferred, GPU for PlaneShift. Only Nvidia GeForce and ATI Radeon are currently recommended, because PlaneShift relies on a rather correct and efficient implementation of several OpenGL features.
