No love for Karl Malden or Ed McMahon?
« on: July 05, 2009, 07:34:53 am »
With the spate of RIP threads in recent days perhaps it is time to start an official Obituary/give up the love Sticky thread. I suppose it hasn't been much of a problem but with one thread for all our beloved moderators will not need to bother locking threads after a few days. It could work much like the Birthdays thread.

One thing that surprises me about that thread is that nobody bothers to change the default "Re: Happy Birthday!! Have some cake and such." to "Happy Birthday bilbous, you magnificent beast!" or some such that will indicate to whom you are conveying best wishes.

Any thoughts about any part of this post?

Honestly death is kind of more important than birthdays, so I think it's rude how the mods keep locking the threads, imo. Creating an "obituary" thread is also a bit rude. Besides it's not like you see rip threads this often....

Maybe they don't think of it? I wouldnt. If anyone really cares they'd just click the thread.

The threads were locked because people said rude or untoward things in their efforts at "humor" irreverence is apparently really "funny" I'll take the idea under consideration and ask Neko how he feels Prolix.
