What is PlaneShift like?

I'm downloading PlaneShift, and I want to see how the game play is in a Roleplaying server, but I want some advice on how the game will act. Can someone give me some advice?

Also look around for newbie/beginner guides. There are several, starting with a "sticky" post in just this forum area...

Best advices in general:

- Patience.
- Listen.
- Do not underestimate the tutorial level.
- Play a whole character, not just a hero (e.g. Spiderman would be unimportant without following Peter Parker's life in parallel).
