\\o// Anfa coming back!

- Those error messages are "normal" and unrelated to the crash...
- CPU, RAM and GPU are fine; chances are that Windows 7 (64 bit) may give some issues, though.
- It is highly recommended to download and install nVidia graphic card drivers from nvidia.com (or maybe omegadrivers.net), do not rely on Microsoft shipped drivers!
- When a crash dialog with the crash ID appears, try to press Ctrl+C, it might work to paste its content into a textfield with Ctrl+V afterwards.

but there is no crash dialog, the window disappears and the launcher window reappears over and over and if I skip the launcher and just use the client, the window opens, looks like it's loading normally [except the totally white window] then it just shuts down *poof*
downloading new drivers now but pretty sure my techie bf who built this for me did NOT depend on Microsoft shipped drivers lol. Think he would fall over if anyone even suggested it!

Hugs to you LigH, happy to see at least one name I recognized :)

well, the client worked fine yesterday, but now it just loads and freezes. For all the PC's of my friends that are trying to play today. Can you help? the details that appear are just the regular ones when a program just doesn't answer while loading. Different PCs with different operating systems and in different maps in the game. None of them can get more than the loading page

Anfa, what version of the client are  you running?
I believe it is 5.2.1? the newest available because I just downloaded it with utorrent.
update- with the updated drivers I did manage to get into the game by bypassing the launcher and just using the client. managed to stay in for about 5 mins before the client crashed :)
Had to leave for work [because I was running late] so no details on what caused the crash.
I will try again to see if I can stay ingame for more then 5 mins when I get the chance

Cheers and thank you for the help

Akaiddo: i downloaded that link just the other day... though I noticed I still had the old driver folder in there too, so I deleted that and setup the new drivers. Then rebooted my computer and tried pslaunch first (both double-clicking - to open program and run as admin) same issue. Next I went to psclient.exe and double clicked it got this error CrashID=bp-5463dd55-2beb-47ae-8bf2-1806d2100303 . So next I tried running psclient.exe as admin and got this error CrashID=bp-86b754b8-57e5-4b7c-866a-2d0012100303 . I get the feeling it likes giving my crash id's to try and figure out.

I checked your new crash report and you are still crashing shader evaluation. Maybe you should try deleting the shadercache.

In regards to shadercache I deleted that ages ago, just ran a search on my computer everywhere for that and it found nothing. So as far as I know... it shouldn't be on there.

The shadercache did not get rebuilt?! ... It should get rebuilt after deleting - if that did not happen, maybe the crash prevented that.

Please note that you might not find it if you don't activate searching for hidden items too, because the file is located in a hidden folder (%APPDATA%\PlaneShift).

Not sure where to find that folder but I redid my search for "shadercache" everywhere and including hidden items and found these files. Though they were under different folders so I think they are some other files not related to planeshift.

ShaderCache.ps_2_0 (four times - one located at C:\Windows\Performance. The other three -> C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-w..ystemassessmenttool_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_795e35dcba6ee826)
ShaderCache.vs_1_1 (again same as above four files first located at C:\Windows\Performance. The other three -> C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-w..ystemassessmenttool_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_795e35dcba6ee826)

Otherwise I have no other search results for that. I think I may just uninstall, delete all related (planeshift) files. Re-install with the torrent download and see if that works. I doubt it but worth a try. Feel free to give any advice but I will not be here this weekend so I will respond as soon as I get home and can get on here. Thank you all for the help and trying so hard.

Edit: I had a thought that perhaps my psclient.cfg or pslaunch.cfg don't have the correct or full information that might mean the .exe wouldn't work. Or I would assume so anyway. So if Akaiddo could perhaps mention how big those file sizes are... I know it's probably not the root cause of my issue but hey worth a shot.

No - C:\Windows\Performance is not the location.

You can enter %APPDATA%\PlaneShift into your "Run..." dialog, or into the address line of an Explorer window; this should lead you to "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application data\PlaneShift" (or similar); there should be a file called "shadercache" (which is in fact a ZIP archive without filename extension). This file should have been built once with the first start of the client.

But that may only work well after you were once able to run pslaunch and set up all relevant options (especially graphic detail levels). If your pslaunch never worked, then psclient will probably not work either, already due to a few missing configuration files in your %APPDATA%\PlaneShift folder.

Unfortunately, it is hard to imagine a reason why pslaunch would not be able to run. At least a basic OpenGL implementation should be a prerequisite almost everyone can provide.

Alrighty I'm back from my little holiday still dead tired but I shall deal. Okay so when I did the "Run..." dialog with what you said - it took me to "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\PlaneShift" in that folder it simply has a logs folder, some quest notes and this - updaterinfo.xml.download (it has 0 bytes). There wasn't a file called shadercache and my pslaunch never worked. I believe I will simply uninstall and re-install, hopefully it will be nice and work after that.
