started to wonder if it was 1 of my blunders while trying to update the game in another way but if ligh has it also...

i had that problem too and was content to just keep 0.5.2.1 until the updater issue was fixed, then the version check was fixed and told me i had to get 0.5.3 and now i can't play at all

thats the crash report i keep getting, i've tried everything on my end from reinstalling the game, forcing repairs to the game and updated my graphics drivers.  it was suggested that the bug had something the do with the crystalspace engine but the question i have is did the engine get updated in 0.5.3? if not then i have to wonder why it would work before the update and not after...

Yes, the crystalspace engine is usually updated with each new binary and it was updated in 0.5.3.
