Well... Yes - Yes it does sound epic... There is no such thing as too epic in "role play". Epic, Great, Grand, Over-The-Top, etc., etc., etc... Whatever you choose to call this and/or any other RP'ed event for that matter - Don't you want it to be good? Or would you prefer mediocrity? Don't worry, I;m not going to be
too defensive here but when Vilthis approached Felear with the concept I (as in ooc me) had just returned from a lengthy time away. I left because RP was starting to die off and returned to see it had only gotten worse - Then this idea. I liked it
because it was grand scale and not another 10 minute run-in in the plaza or a mine. I DO agree that it is waaaay over the top and "epic" if you will... But the RP server needs a swift kick in the pants and this could have done it and done it extremely well. I did hear something that i didn't want to hear from a friend of mine who was unknowingly about to kill the appeal of it for me - Vilthis saying he was thinking of leaving PS. I don't know him very well but it was nice to see that someone had finally decided to at least try to pull off a grand scale RP which even took roots from past RP's in an attempt to keep the appeal of PS alive to those of us looking for a reason to want to stay.
Vilthis, for the record, I was impressed. You did a great job in planning, putting it together, editing, and finally presenting it to a community that just isn't ready for the transition from "Double Bogey" to "Eagle". I know for a fact that you are not the first to leave because of this lack of RP. I personally know of a handful who left quite some time ago. I am engaged to one, another is my best friend and the others are also good friends. I also know you will not be the last because if the RP server is a place where RP'ing (wether it is a great idea or a really bad one) is discouraged then I am far from proud to say it but I will be gone mere days after coming back.
I will stick around the forums and watch for good RP's (and because I have the utmost respect for the devs and will always follow their work) and will give support and props to any good ideas to and interesting past, present and future events.
I do hope to see a lot more RP and a whole lot more BIG ideas like this in the future (and from as many people as possible... if possible). Take care, keep it as clean as possible and enjoy. While these days may seem dark to a lot of us, I do have faith that the future of PS is a blindingly bright one. Kudos
