Bogus Updater Crash

My PS was working fine till suddenly it started crashing... It kept telling me i was using a outdated version of PS and i need to update it... The problem is im using the latest version 0.5.4 and its asking me to update to 0.5.3

ignore this, it happens to everyone when the game crashes, it's not on your side but rather on the server side where the problem lies.
someone should really add a line about this to either the main site or the forum, this "problem" pops up way too often.

i cant play the game anymore... usually it only happened once in half hour now its happening as soon as i load everytime.. i cant play anymore....

well that message is not apart of your problem, you beter explain what happend before you crashed.
btw i get that error alot, everytime the game crashes i have it or even if i just close the game.

if you want step by step of what happened...

Step1)   Launch App

Step2)   Click Play

Step3)   Enter Username + Passwd + Login   

Step4)  Character Selection  ------------------------------------------>>> Till this part no problems at all

Step5)  Join  ------------->> As soon as the world loads i get the error and crashes

hm it's possible you gotten stuck in a bad area wich makes the game crash, i'd suggest talk to a gm or other that can move your char on irc, direct link http://www.planeshift.it/irc.html

It is also possible that there was just "bad weather" on the map while you tried to log in (fog and rain makes clients crash ... it has been fixed in developer versions, but we are missing developers who are able to package a MacOS X version too, so the release will delay).

If you try to contact a GM, first ask to check if weather may be the reason for your crash. It may help to know in which area you logged out.

This happened to me the other day when I tired to start up the game once again after a long time...after looking totally ridiculous on IRC for a while we finally figured it out..something about the VBO...when you have the launcher up go to settings...Graphics..and untick Enable VBO ...see if that helps good luck!

This happened to me. I have a computer running Windows 7 (x64), and I installed Planeshift 0.5.4 x64. Then, I uninstalled that and installed Planeshift 0.5.4 x32, and it was fixed.
