while the one above was a joke and nothing will be done to elvi, yes family names are mandatory in no circumstances gm or dev will help to get no surname, actually we encourage to get a surname. Those marriages they have used a flaw of the marriage code (which is obviously developed to have only both names) in order to get no surname gm didn't allow it the engine allowed it for a pure case.
