ok, on skill levels?the current system in mind has 200 as a soft limit, by soft I mean there is nothing stopping us from going beyond and magic will allow for people to go beyond.
How far can we go and maintain some balance?in the current scope I figure into the ten thousands. Then why 200???
Well, 200 is where we hope people will have about 5 skills after a certain amount of playing time.
If and when the 200 point is broken we will probably open new areas or new things for them?but for now 200 seems like a nice ceiling.
?well what if I get one skill up to 200 really really fast cause I don?t increase anything else?am I topped out? Can I not progress beyond that point? Well then your character is an idiot savant?but depending on may things yes perhaps you can proceed but not cause of one skill is 200, but because we set the limit higher.
Again this is a soft limit?the system really doesn?t break till much beyond?it is the bigger questions like, at skill 2000 can a single person kill an army? What type of spells are available at skill 2000? Is the kill all enemies spell available? I think in beta most of this will be worked out?if a person with 200 with swords vs. a guy with 500 dodge?what happens? Those types of issues.
As well as if unobtainium swords are the end all be all for smiths at 200?what about at 2000

? should we just come up with imposaladium and say it was just discovered?
So those are the fun things we need to decide and much of it will not be possible prior to beta, all I can say is we can easily go into the tens of thousands. Based on the system but that does not mean we will?in fact I hope we only perhaps add 100 to the skills every couple of years as we see many characters reach their limits.
