How come I'm always tired?

So I have a question. It always annoyed me but I never voiced it before. I realize that all the new "citizens" I make seem to be relatively unburdened by physical stamina restrictions. They can literally run for hours and never seem to get tired. However, my much older character (who has alot more endurance stat) always seems to get tired when running. Is this game mechanics at work? Is it because when I created the character the mechanics were differnt? I wonder. I can't seem to figure it out.

The rate of fatigue depends on the load. The more you carry, the faster you get tired, so try running without much load for a test.
