Server Full is just a status that can be set for it. It just means no player is able to login but devs and GMs still are. So it's prefect for testing without annoyances.

Note to anyone who's following Aiwendil's shortcut for downloading the files manually from the server backup:

  Make sure that when compiling the new gui sounds into the art folder that you place it in the art/sounds/gui/instruments/guitar folder.  If you've run through the updater already and failed those files, PS will place a .download file in place of the actual file, so that the file will fail the integrity check when requesting an update.  Be sure and remove all of the .download files before replacing them with the correct %23 files.

Seems to me that --repairing might be a bit premature. If they find a major bug before they open the server they will likely roll back to .5.7.1, probably why there is no official announcement yet.

Ps: don't forget this will be the update where you want to reset all your password hashes if you haven't had them done manually already or have been using the self compiled client.

The server is down for the update to 0.5.8. It will take some more time, not sure yet how much, but don't hold your breath! Meanwhile download the torrents and download the new binaries, we need people to seed the new client!

Dumb questions, I know. I went to planeshift.it/download.html and tried to download windows but getting the url error message. Where EXACTLY do I go to download the game onto my *ahem* NEW computer??

Nice timing, I got a new laptop...not updating the desktop yet, but I've got the torrent going on this machine. The direct download didn't work when I was on there.

The HTTP mirrors are not yet up to date (but the german community will hurry). Either use BitTorrent, or try to update (possibly by removing updateservers.xml and maybe even updaterinfo.xml in the program path)...
