Beginning cooking lessons
« on: March 10, 2012, 10:24:59 am »
why is it that when beginning cooking lessons one must go to East Hydlaa to buy the skill lessons but the only places where one can use this skill is in Ojaveda or the Arena or Grungotid. Really a pain to try to learn when you have to constantly run back to East Hydlaa to up your skill. I would suggest letting Reffitia teach beginners.

The East Hydlaa trainer does get around a bit, she hangs out  in back of Harnquist's some of the time and visits Jomed too. I do agree there should be some overlap between early level trainers.

This makes it even more frustrating...

I think all skills should have at least 2 beginner trainers.  It makes sense that more people would be able to teach you the basics of a skill than the higher levels.

This has been wished and discussed several times already: Disappearing crafting- or quest-relevant NPCs without any substitute are quite annoying, especially for beginners; may the "proof of concept" of moving NPCs be more or less impressive, but the effect on the player count is eventually not very positive.

The trainer has a small hobby of making her way up to Kada's kitchen to hang out with Jomed some.  Makes it very realistic, for one, but it's much more accessible, I think.

You can't actually cook anything in Jomed's kitchen anyway, can you?

Yeah, and why not?  Even though it might cut into Jomed's profits a little, it would be good for players and rp to have use of a a prep table and the grill there.   :P

Well if you want to go off topic and talk about inactive equipment, how come I cannot use the oven at the Explorers Outpost? It just gives me an error message.

Well the point was that having the trainer in Jomed's kitchen doesn't actually help anyone at the moment.  It just adds another place you have to check when you're trying to find her.
