Like Mari stated, "her" style of RP hasn't influenced a server. Novella or long-RPing has been around as long as the game has. In fact, an influx of people from the large browser text-based RPs was the largest single RP paradigm shift.
That, and the grittier 'realism' shift from just flighty fantasy that happened around 2008 or perhaps a bit earlier, that really shaped PS into what it is today.
Everything else is just preference, like it's been stated. Travosh prefers single sentences. Mariana prefers novels. Some people fluctuate in between.
Honestly, it's all effective. Think about your character and what might be most effective for it. One liners? Super descriptive?
Lastly, remember to not focus on yourself. Try and make PS about driving a bigger story than your li'l character, because frankly, like real life, we don't live in Wulfarworld.
You'll realize that as you learn to "play well" with others, you can't suck, because you're just having a good time together

Oh, and in light of the dogpile...
* Cairn crash tackles Mariana and cuts her hands off....jokingly
