Salad Recipes

Could we perhaps have some recipes for making salads in the next cooking expansion, whenever that might be? It would require new items and new recipes, but most of the needed materials exist already. Basically plant leaves that would serve as a base for salad greens would be a nice addition. Along with actually salad greens recipes. Also some pasta salad and fruit salad options would be nice as well as fish salads. We don't have tuna but I'm sure a carp or some such salad could work.

The non meat salads would help those not accustomed to eating meat much and help provide a balanced meal.

We don't have lettuce, and we'd certainly need oil, which we don't have, either - we only have tefu lard and butter, and I think that defeats the purpose of a healthy salad.

What, we don't have oil?! You obviously never found any Wragberry or Gobo Root yet. Well, Gobo Root oil seems to be more useful for perfumes, but Wragberries should be perfect (like olives?).

Indeed LigH. But isn't wragberry more like an orange ?

And I might be wrong but I recall in the "basic" kitchen book something like : "Heating 4 Scoop of Lards into Hot Cooking Oil using Pot". So the "cooking oil" is craftable already. You could just add a step 4 scoop of lard > Cooking Oil.

For the lettuce, the "big" plants like "Clackerweed" or "Kingsfoil leaf" could be considered as salad, aswell.

Wragberries are supposed to be little things, they just use the kartoffel model but they do work like olives. I suppose Kingsfoil and Clackerweed could work.

I like the idea of a new cookbook, being more light snack oriented. The biggest challenge would be making parts fit like what is used to make oil or be a salad leaf. This isn't hard just time consuming. I can see something like this in the future, maybe when there is a review of cooking. As this would not take priority over the current projects we are working on (and those due to start) it may be a while. I see no harm in people discussing options for what might work as it may save time in future.

If you give better details about what is needed, we can probably start hashing that out now so that it's just a matter of deciding later if the ideas we come up with are good enough. Identifying ingredients could be done fairly easily now.
