You can't have bath houses in PS unless you can recruit Bette Midler to play the game.

Would I be incorrect in thinking that in medieval times, washing was something you did after working up a few weeks worth of honest stink and grime? Perhpas I'm a wuss, but the thought of someone washing a month's worth of filth off of them and getting the bad place clean too while at it is NOT very .... appetizing, let's say.

It's not the same as today's super clean folks bathing to wash for show or just to wash off anything that may have build up in the last 12 hours.

@ Siteya:

PlaneShift may have settings similar to medieval times on earth in some aspects, but there are a lot of differences too. Octarchal law does not restrict power to men only. Powerful and self-confident women are rather common in Yliakum, just mentioning Amidison as one example.

I see no reason for avoiding a topic in Yliakum only because it worked in a different way in a different world. There should be more specific reasons related to the settings there to justify not considering it.

Maybe rather think of a Spa with several separate rooms and one-person tubs each, instead of bigger basins, so there won't be a need to muse a lot whether there should be two (or even three) separate facilities instead of only one, to avoid embarrassment.

@Siteya, Yliakum is obviously not in a medieval setting. It is fantasy with some medieval elements, some ancient, some modern. You are once again fixated on the sexual. Please use logic here, not kneejerk Puritanism.

That might work. I could see such a facility working well by the Arena.

Knee jerk Puritanism? What do you mean by that?

As for dismissing Siteya's post because it is not "logical", how is her application of bath house details (whether real or embellished) illogical? If we are going to split hairs here, speaking "English" ICly and calling it "Common" is not logical. My point here is that as this entire game is fictional, some allowances to what is logical need to be made - otherwise, much of what we have in game could not possibly exist.

Fiction itself is a complete lie but within that lie, we try to create a sort of truth that readers will willingly accept as if it really was truth. As readers, we allow the fictional writer to lie to us for our own entertainment and suspend our disbelief - so long as they lie to us in a palletable way. Completely defying physics without a plausible excuse in a fictional movie when there is an expectation of reasonable physics is one such way that this contract of telling a coherent lie is broken - leading the viewer to disappointment.

I'm saying that her criticisms are filled with logical fallacies, so it is a waste of my time to respond to her posts. By "kneejerk Puritanism" I mean the immediate equation of bathhouses with sexual activity and only that. Although, if you know the friends of Lhaa, you should be aware that none of them are Puritans.

Before this thread turns into a multitude of this forums other threads, I just am gonna throw it out there that I don't think they were necessarily criticisms.

I'm done now.
I regret to announce that this is the end.

I bid you all a very fond farewell

Sarras, I am a very polite person as I think my previous posts will implore, and I would never revert to name calling or degradation of character to win an argument, and actually I was just trying to have a conversation. I would also never throw another player under the bus that actually defended me, Like Lhaa, defended you. But I will say this. You win so big, your so righteous and I bow at your correct opinion. Please do continue to contribute to PS I shall never ever speak upon your threads unless it is in utter admiration. You are great.

Then jokes don't belong on a wish list thread. Or whatever Siteya was trying to do.

You must be mistaken because there is no argument here.

Like Lhaa, defended you.

I recall it being the other way around.

You are great.

Thanks!
