Blue Way's focus is "Energy, Life, and Light" - sounds more like it would be useful for the grunts building the Winch to tire out slower while they lug all that metal around.

That's the Crystal Way.  The Blue Way is Divination, Purification, and the Water element.  It does have information gathering spells like analyze dweomer and imbibe lore, but the math buffing spell seems more akin to Dome of Perfection from Azure.

What  does purification have to do with understanding complicated math? That would require enhancement, not... whatever I just read. Your mind is only capable of understanding that which it's taught. You need to form physical connections. If anything would allow that, it would be something that gives you hyper focus, which would have to be AW.

Azure is advertised as mind, illusion, and air. It makes sense that it would allow you to understand complex/abstract ideas.

Maybe if you combined an AW glyph with a BlW glyph you'd succeed in finding a relevant spell, but BlW on its own?

Restrictions that lower your present capabilities due to polluting thoughts? Once those restrictions are lifted, you're still left with your own intelligence. You're not going to magically become smarter. Think clearer, yes; become a genius, no.

If you are using divination to divine the answer the problem by contacting an external entity that knows the answer, then that might make sense, but if you don't explain how this connection is made between divination and the source of the answer, then is sounds more like a sketchy ass-pull than anything else. Fiction needs to be made believable.
